Monika Kocevska-Czyżma
I am a psychologist and psychotherapist – I completed a 4-year psychotherapy training program at the Intra Psychoeducation Center. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults in the humanistic-experiential approach, also in English. I am a member of the Polish Society for Integrative Experiential Psychotherapy Intra.
I graduated in psychology with a specialization in clinical psychology from the University of Łódź in 2007. I have obtained many certificates, including ‘Creating Therapeutic Contracts,’ ‘Clinical Interview Method,’ ‘Selective Mutism Issues and Diagnosis,’ ‘Attachment Theory,’ and a certificate in ‘Diagnosing and Working with Children with FAS from the Krakow Psychodynamic Center.’ I have also completed training in EFT and an introduction to Focusing-Oriented Therapy.
In 2015, I completed postgraduate studies at the Janusz Korczak Pedagogical University – specializing in psychological and pedagogical assistance and crisis intervention.
In my daily work, I assist both adolescents and adults by offering individual and couple/marriage psychotherapy. I provide support to individuals experiencing emotional issues, anxiety, phobias, stress, depression, self-destructive behaviors, relationship problems, and crisis situations. I also diagnose adults with suspected ADHD.
I gained my professional and psychotherapeutic experience as a Lecturer of Psychology at the Higher School of International Studies in Łódź, at the Community Self-Help Center in Warsaw (Wincentego Street 85), at the Adoption Center of the Children’s Friends Society, at the Therapeutic Center on Grottgera Street 25a, during an internship at the 24-Hour Psychiatric Ward at Bielański Hospital in Warsaw, as well as at the PSYCHOKLINIKA Mental Health Clinic.
appeared as an expert on the TV program ‘Pytanie na śniadanie’ and also spoke as an expert on Elżbieta Jaworowicz’s show ‘Sprawa dla reportera.’
I base my work on empathy, understanding, and full acceptance, which allows me to provide the support that is crucial in crisis situations and in overcoming everyday difficulties.
I regularly submit my work to supervision.
